Women in Tech: Becoming the Ally

In many cultures, gender discrimination is a norm even before birth and being educated as a girl is a huge challenge. It is a challenge at each step to get educated and to become an independent woman. Those challenges don’t stop there. Being a woman in technology and coming from underrepresented backgrounds doubles up the challenges (gender bias and racial discrimination). If you observe, the percentage of women in technology is just 26.7% according to a 2022 survey. In this session, we are going to discuss the ways to recognize the unconsious bias and steps to take in becoming an ally to support and encourage women to have a successful career in technology.
