PASS Summit 2025 will take place in Summit, Seattle Convention Center, at 900 Pine St, Seattle, WA 98101, USA, in Seattle, November 17-21, 2024.
PASS, the former Professional Association for SQL Server, no longer exists (and we're not trying to replace it), but PASS Summit has huge recognition within the data platform community, as well as a lot of good memories.
To build on that experience and legacy, and to affirm our commitment to the quality and breadth of content on offer, we've decided to keep PASS Summit as part of the name.
By adding 'Data Community', we're welcoming everyone who works with data to join in and connect, share and learn on a global scale.

As part of Redgate's mission to support the broad database community, and also support everyone working across multiple database platforms, Redgate is pleased to be able to support the Postgres Central Foundation, an advocacy and education project which hosts a series of non-profit, professional conferences. Redgate is supporting and sponsoring the Postgres Central Foundation to run a Postgres-specific conference in the same venue as PASS Data Community Summit, in Seattle in November 2024.
The Postgres Conference Seattle 2024 will take place from 6-7 November, in the Summit building at the Seattle Convention Centre.
Postgres Conference Seattle will be made up of ~27 sessions across 3 tracks: Dev, Ops and Essentials. The call for speakers is open until Monday, September 30 2024. Find out more by visiting their website.
Postgres Conference Seattle is sponsored by Redgate and Command Prompt Inc, you'll find both companies in the PASS Summit Expo hall along with other sponsors of PASS Summit.
Not at all. The sessions that were selected as part of the PASS Summit CFS were done so as per the volunteer program committee's review. You can read more about that process on our website.
16 Postgres-specific talks were selected for the PASS Summit program. Find out more in this blog post, and also by filtering for Postgres in the session catalog. The founder of the Postgres Central Foundation will be presenting a talk on the Ecosystem Stage during PASS Summit.
The Postgres Conference Seattle has a further ~27 sessions, specific to the Postgres platform, and their sessions are selected as part of their entirely separate CFS.
We aim to record all PASS Summit general sessions, and 3-day PASS Summit attendees will get access to these recordings post-event as part of their conference ticket until January 31, 2025.
3-day PASS Summit attendees have the option to extend access until later in the year, and other attendees have the option to buy on-demand access for a fee.
We are in discussions about whether the Postgres Conference Seattle sessions will be recorded, stay tuned for updates via the PASS Summit newsletter.
Postgres Conference Seattle 2024 is a much smaller event than PASS Summit 2024, covering Postgres-only content across 3 tracks and ~27 sessions. The Postgres Central Foundation is a non-profit organization, and prices its tickets accordingly. The Postgres Conference will host approx. 250 people maximum, as opposed to around 2,000 attendees and over 150 sessions at PASS Summit.
Postgres Conference Seattle 2024 is $599 per person for a two-day conference. PASS Summit 2024 is $2,095 per person (standard price) for a 3-day ticket.
Yes, subject to capacity the Postgres Conference sessions will be open to PASS Summit attendees.
Attendees to Postgres Conference Seattle will be able to attend some elements at PASS Summit as part of their ticket. This includes the PASS Summit Exhibit Hall, the PASS Summit Exhibitor Reception on Wednesday, November 6, PASS Summit keynotes, PASS Summit ecosystem sessions, PASS Summit community zone and community events. They will also share the Convention Center space with PASS Summit attendees.
Postgres Conference Seattle attendees will enjoy food and beverages in the same space as PASS Summit attendees. There will be three rooms set aside for the Postgres Conference. However, Postgres Conference attendees will need to purchase a ticket for PASS Summit in order to attend the PASS Summit pre-cons, the PASS Summit general sessions, and the Welcome Reception on Tuesday 5 November.
While Postgres Conference Seattle attendees will share the Seattle Convention Center space with PASS Summit attendees and have access to some elements at PASS Summit, the reduced ticket price reflects the fact that Postgres Conference Seattle is a significantly smaller conference taking place over fewer days. Postgres Conference Seattle attendees won't have access to a large range of the incredible content at PASS Summit including the pre-cons, general sessions, or the PASS Summit Welcome Reception on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, unless they choose to buy a PASS Summit ticket.
This is a separate conference to PASS Summit and is being led by the Postgres Central Foundation who have separate goals and content.
Whilst these two events are connected through the support of Redgate, and will take place at the same time and in the same venue, they remain separate events.
Not yet, and in fact the Postgres Central Foundation has a call for speakers open until Monday, September 30 2024. Find out more here.
Content for PASS Summit and Postgres Conference Seattle will be organized entirely separately through their respective CFS, which is open now and closes on Monday, September 30 2024. Postgres Conference Seattle conference has three tracks; Dev, Ops, and Essentials. The schedule will be announced soon and you'll find that on their website coming soon.
