In this session we will focus on the scalability and availability improvements in SQL Server 2022 driving advances for mission critical applications. The largest memory and processing power requirements will improve with the storage engine features and capabilities in SQL Server 2022. We will highlight scalability improvements in tempdb, buffer pool parallel scan – and management improvements with shrink database with low priority, XML compression and more.
We will also focus on availability improvements in AlwaysOn Availability Groups with Contained availability group, Parallel redo enhancements, and improved throughput for Distributed Availability Groups (DAG).
We will focus on backup / restore performance with the new Intel QuickAssist Technology (QAT) for backup compression and multi-write replication to enable multi-master writes across multiple locations.
Finally, we will touch on other recovery improvements with Accelerated Database Recovery (ADR) enhancements.
