Managing SQL Server on Linux with Ansible Automation

Brian Smith

Ansible is open-source software that is used to automate the configuration and management of IT environments at scale. Linux System Roles is a project focused on the configuration of Linux-based system services (storage, networking, security, etc) using Ansible automation. Together, these technologies can greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to deploy and configure SQL Server on Linux. In this session, you’ll learn how you can combine Linux System Roles with the Microsoft SQL Server for Linux role to deploy your applications in a consistent way across bare-metal, virtual and cloud-based Linux environments. You’ll come away with an understanding of how to utilize the latest features of the Microsoft SQL Server for the Linux role including the most requested feature, and support for easy-to-configure SQL Server Availability Groups in Pacemaker clusters.
