Azure DevOps & AzureSQL: Practical Guide for Database Development & Standards

In this session, we’ll work on optimizing database development with Azure DevOps & Azure SQL using SQL Fluff – showing how these tools streamline workflows, how to enforce standards, and ensure quality into Azure SQL DB projects. This also includes automating pipeline’s integration and deployment, creating code-base standards to minimize code errors, and implementing coding conventions baseline rules.

Integrating SQL Fluff into the Az Do pipelines will show a development workflow and define SQL code standards. We will create a SQL Fluff baseline, all through implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) for databases.

Furthermore, we will discuss strategies for monitoring SQL code quality and compliance with SQL code standards. I will show how to use Azure DevOps dashboards and reports to track key metrics such as code coverage, code duplication and more – showing best practices and tips along the way.
