A Deep Dive into Azure Data Explorer – Analyzing Data Faster
Hamish Watson
Azure Data Explorer (ADX) is a cloud-based analytics service offered by Microsoft. It is a fast and scalable data exploration and analytics platform designed to handle large amounts of diverse data from various sources in real-time. ADX uses a powerful query language called Kusto Query Language (KQL) that allows users to write complex queries over large data sets.
ADX provides various tools to help users explore and analyze their data. The ADX Explorer is a web-based tool that allows users to navigate through data sets, query data, and visualize results as well as allowing users to write and execute KQL queries in real-time.
ADX can ingest data from various sources, including IoT devices, log files, and streaming data. It supports a variety of data formats, including JSON, CSV, and Parquet. ADX also provides built-in connectors to various data sources, including Azure Event Hub, Azure IoT Hub, and Azure Blob Storage.
Through live demos this session will deep dive into ADX looking at both the infrastructure which uses a distributed architecture for high performance and scalability, and ADX provides automatic indexing and caching to improve query performance.
