PASS Summit West is Getting a New Home in 2026

July 13, 2026

PASS Summit West 2026 is moving from the Seattle Convention Center to the Hyatt Regency Seattle (just around the corner!). In addition, this years’ event will be three days instead of five: one day of Pre-Conference and two days of Main-Conference, running November 9-11.

We’ve made this call deliberately and want to walk you through it properly rather than let you piece it together from the schedule page. Here’s what’s changing, what’s staying exactly as it was, and why we think this is the better version of PASS Data Community Summit.

A Hotel, Not a Convention Center

Convention centers are built for scale, not for the moments that actually make PASS Summit West worth attending.

You know the ones: the hallway conversations that run long because someone finally explains the thing you’ve been stuck on for months, the run-in with a speaker at the coffee station, or the group that ends up at the same table for lunch and stays in touch for years.

None of that gets easier when your session rooms are a 15-minute walk apart, across 6 floors.

At the Hyatt Regency Seattle, they’re not. Everything from sessions to meals, the Exhibit Hall, and evening events, all sit under one roof – predominantly on one floor. You’ll spend less time walking and more time doing, with more chances to bump into that person you haven’t seen for a year.

Here’s What’s Staying: The Quality of Content

Across two community conference days, you’ll have access to 10 session rooms packed with content from the world’s best data professionals. With Deep Dives, Learning Pathways and Breakout Sessions, there’s no shortage of learning to give you that Monday-morning impact while supporting your longer-term growth.

If you’ve been coming to PASS Summit for years and building your schedule around a familiar rhythm, this version may feel a little different. What won’t change is the substance underneath.

Community Kickoff

New this year, we’ll open with a Community Kickoff, setting the tone and bringing our strapline to life: Connect. Share. Learn.

Join us for a welcome drink to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new people, and ease into the rhythm of the event. After this networking warm-up, we’ll gather for a fun, community-driven Power Hour designed to spark energy, encourage inclusive learning, and foster a sense of belonging from day one.

We’ll then wrap up with more time for networking, giving conversations room to continue and new connections the chance to take root.

But that’s not all…

We know a community event isn’t just about the sessions and networking; it’s about reconnecting with friends and making new ones. That’s why we’re bringing back Games Night for those looking for a more relaxed evening, whether bonding over Catan, Uno, or whatever else lands on the table.

For those feeling more active, start the day with the Data Run and explore Seattle alongside fellow attendees.

We suspect that a few more community-led gatherings will pop up along the way, so keep an eye on the program catalog (filter for events) to make the most of your time in Seattle.

Community Experts Clinic

Some questions don’t fit into a session Q&A, and some career decisions need more than a hallway chat. That’s exactly what the Community Experts Clinic is for.

Book time with an experienced practitioner from the data community for a focused, one-on-one conversation. Whether it’s a specific technical challenge, a career decision you’re weighing up, or just a second opinion on something you’re planning to build, this is your chance to get tailored advice from someone who’s been there before.

No audience. No queue for the microphone. Just you and an expert, focused on the topic that matters most to you.

Looking for a tangible ROI for attending PASS Summit West? This could be it. You might leave with a solution to a technical problem, clarity on your next career move, or the confidence to take your next project forward.

More information on the booking process coming soon.

Community Zone

The Community Zone is where PASS Summit West slows down between sessions. Whether you need a break, a change of pace, or simply a place to connect with other attendees, it’s the perfect spot to recharge.

Drop in whenever you’d like, and expect to find:

  • A beanbag corner for actually sitting down (don’t worry, we have sofas too!)
  • A crafting corner for anyone who thinks better with their hands busy
  • Hobby Huddles, informal meetups around interests outside of data (watch for the call if you’d like to run one)
  • A sticker exchange: bring some, take some
  • A chance to explore Redgate’s wider community offering, including Simple Talk and SQLServerCentral
  • Database Bingo, because who doesn’t love a game of Bingo?

Designed for Everyone

Everyone is truly welcome at PASS Summit West, and we want you to feel comfortable showing up as your authentic self.

To help create an inclusive and supportive environment, we’ll provide male, female, gender neutral, and accessible restrooms; a quiet room if you need a moment away from the buzz; a dedicated prayer and nursing room; and catering options for a wide range of dietary requirements.

If there’s something we’ve missed that would make you feel more comfortable, included, or able to participate fully, please let us know. We’re always listening and looking for ways to make the experience better for everyone.
