Building Tabular Data Models Using Metadata
Jason Romans
We will extend what we thought was possible with C# and Tabular Editor by building a tabular data model without using Power BI Desktop. Not only can C# be used to make changes to objects in the model but the creation of the Tabular Model itself can be done with metadata. Using metadata stored in Excel, we will build a data model that we can then use to build reports.
Next, we will use a similar method but now the metadata is stored in SQL Server.
For the encore, we will make changes to this model using C# that if done manually would take hours.
