Working With PostgreSQL as a JSON Document Store
Robert Bernier
JSON, JavaScript Object Notation, is an open-format and machine-readable standard facilitating data interchange between application and the persistent datastore on the modern webstack. This talk focuses on the ability of Postgres to act as the authoritative datastore and, when correctly designed and implemented, can match any of the popular technologies in use today.
In this session, we will show you how to work with PostgreSQL JSON data types and functions – making it possible to store and query JSON-formatted documents in PostgreSQL. Performance enhancements using indexes will also be covered.
