Disaster Recovery (DR) is a critical element of business continuity in an Enterprise after a natural or human disaster. DR has become more critical with cyberattacks and ransomware to be able to recover data and continue business. DR has been costly because organizations need to keep another data center location and hardware that mirrors production. DR drills take up lots of time to coordinate and execute. Only large organizations could afford to have a DR strategy for their organizations.
This has changed with AWS and Azure cloud services. Now organizations of any size can have a DR strategy using AWS or Azure cloud services. There are many advantages of using DR in the cloud. For example, low cost because you pay only for services you use, and you can do DR drills any time and anywhere without affecting your production environment.
