Data Story Telling: Requirements Gathering
Lucrecia Krause
Requirements gathering for data storytelling. The success of reports when telling a data story, is in good part, dependent on the quality of the data collected. However, in addition to defining what it is that we are trying to accomplish, the scope of the reporting and the data story we would like to tell are equally important. The requirements gathering and planning is the first activity that needs to happen for the data storytelling project to be successful.
We will explore the different layers that are involved in requirements gathering for data storytelling from the audience we intend to reach, our data needs, the format of our data, and how to better organize our data schema in order to tell the data story.
